Ibero-American Film Festival at UIC
With the support of PRAGDA, a distributor of Latin American and Spanish films, and several Institutions and Cultural Centers at UIC, our Ibero-American Film Festival aims to showcase the newest Latin American, Spanish, and Latinx cinema at UIC. One of our objectives with this festival is the interdisciplinary and intellectual exchange of humanities on campus about crucial topics such as immigration and exile, latinx diasporas, gender and sexualities, feminism, contemporary politics, violence, and more. We believe this a great opportunity to expose students to Ibero-American films that normally have difficulty reaching general audiences and to foster and promote valuable cultural exchange. These factors are key elements in a country where Hispanics are the largest minority and at a university recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution. |
